TRIED AND TESTED
WHAT IS IT? Orvis’s Outdoor Quilted Snap Sweatshirt. £89. www.orvis.co.uk
I WANT IT BECAUSE: This quilted sweatshirt is soft, warm, extremely comfortable, and the quality is as you would expect from Orvis.
USEFUL FOR: Everything. I’ve used mine for everything from dog walking and slobbing at home to some building work and it always washes up really well. HIGH POINT: There are ten different colours to choose from.
LOW POINT: Almost uniquely, it comes up bigger than you expect, so make sure you order a size smaller than you usually need. Also, it could do with a pocket of some sort. WHAT IS IT? Zerowater water filter. £25. www.zerowater.co.uk
I WANT IT BECAUSE: I’m spending a lot of time in a building with an old water supply and want to be sure my water is safe to drink.
USEFUL FOR: The manufacturers claim ZeroWater reduces 99.6% of all total dissolved solids in your drinking water, using a five-stage filter. It claims to be able to remove even the rust from corroded pipes. HIGH POINT: It’s a fraction of the price of buying bottled water, and is far better for the planet than single-use plastic.
LOW POINT: Depending on the water quality (every 30 litres for the worst water, 150 for the best) you have to keep replacing the filters (at £20 they’re not exactly cheap).
