Opposing route plans

The Friends of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park have opposed plans to upgrade the 17km stretch of the Loch Lomondside Road north of Tarbet. Transport Scotland has recently unveiled plans for a £150 million upgrade of the narrow A82, but the Friends are against the plans, which includes rock cuts, new viaducts and the removal of extensive areas of protected ancient oak woodlands, as well as new viaducts build out over the loch itself. www.lochlomondtrossachs.org.uk
