Plans for new broch in Caithness revealed

-

Plans to build an Iron Age broch have taken a step forward, after the Caithness Broch Project unveiled their vision. Brochs – tall, double-walled drystone towers – were once common features in the Iron Age landscape across the Highlands and Islands. It is thought they were used as dwellings, perhaps for local chieftains. The charity hopes to acquire land within the next 12 months and begin building work next year. www.thebrochproject.co.uk
