THE OLDEST MACALLAN EVER

-

The Macallan has unveiled its oldest ever whisky to be made available for sale – The Reach. The 81-yearold dram was crafted during the Second World War in a period of increasing hardship, and The Reach was laid to rest in 1940 before The Macallan was compelled to close its doors for the first time in its history. The whisky is encased in a decanter created from mouth-blown, hot glass, cradled on a bronze sculpture of three hands, sculpted by Saskia Robinson, with the base from a fallen elm on the Macallan Estate. It is limited to only 288 decanters worldwide, priced £92,000. www.themacallan.com
