Saving a historic castle
Work on a £1.6 million bid to restore the historic Braemar Castle building and re-develop its grounds is underway. A feature of the landscape for over 400 years, Braemar Castle has been under community management since 2007, and thanks to donors, the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Historic Environment Scotland, the programme of work can now get underway. Fundraising continues, and it is hoped that work will be completed in 2023. www.braemarcastle.co.uk
