Some 900,000 people in the UK are living with dementia, and by 2040 this is likely to rise to around 1.6 million.

One person in every 20 over the age of 65 has dementia, and one in every five people over 80 has the condition.

Dementia can affect a person in different ways because it may impact their memory, language and behaviour and even their mobility, coordinati­on and vision.
