Gordon Wilson’s Perspective
Recognised as one of Scotland’s most exciting, intriguing and sought-after contemporary artists, Glasgow-based artist Gordon Wilson opens his new Solo Exhibition ‘Objective Perspective’ at the Annan Gallery, Glasgow from Saturday 3rd September
With a number of sell out exhibitions already behind him and demand for his work high, like many of the characters in his paintings, Glasgow based Gordon Wilson is an artist going places...
Those who have had the pleasure of seeing Gordon’s work before will be familiar with his quirky and humorous style, using a number of motifs to create amusing narratives throughout his work but often interwoven into deeper themes of isolation, endurance and prevailing over adversity.
A regular exhibitor with Glasgow’s Annan Gallery, Gordon returns with his new Solo Exhibition ‘Objective Perspective’ where his ‘biddies,’ ‘belties,’ ‘boats,’ ‘bees’ (and ‘Bea’!) all make an appearance creating colourful, vibrant and thought-provoking work.
But most importantly, each making you smile...
“For me,‘art’ be it sketching or painting has always been therapeutic. I’ve realised that painting offers me a gateway to a more peaceful and happy place. There is also an undeniably humorous aspect to the paintings - after all, they are an extension and expression of my personality. I find that jocular invention helps me through difficult times and hopefully raises a smile with the viewer.”
