Since the Rocket Reel Company first introduced its much acclaimed TG-F1 multiplier, the company has gone on to make further improvements on the unit.

Brains behind the company Tony Gittins, who brought us the much-used TG’s Rocket Fuel reel oil, is keen to stress that every component is designed, manufactured and assembled in the UK.

All the stainless-steel components are marine-grade A316, while the chromed brass brake plate with an integral centrifugal brake drum, has been designed with tight and exact tolerances to ensure an extremely tight fit onto the reel cage.

In the heart of the reel, the driveshaft assembly incorporates a ball bearing that sits on an upturned micro-driveshaft shim. As the bearing is recessed behind the driveshaft, it will actually rotate on the inner race of the bearing, offering a super-smooth rotation.

The stainless-steel main gear, together with a phosphor bronze pinion gear, is said to be the very best combination available, and means that it will not bind onto the solid stainless-steel spindle.

The end-plates are chromed brass, while the low-profile cage has a raised platform that allows the mag end-plate to fit tight. This now incorporates a new design front, plus numbered rear bars.

Magnets are operated by using the mono-mag adjuster and this features an integral speed bush to keep the spool location centralised.

Other top features also include: stainlesssteel IAR bearing, micro star-drag wheel, handle equipped with two bearings in each knob, carbon drag washers, lightweight spool with a drive-plate and brake block holder plus tournament circlip. And the smooth running is taken care of by seven hybrid ceramic ABEC ball bearings.

If that wasn’t enough, it all comes supplied in a protective box, with reel case, bottle of yellow label Rocket Fuel, carbon fibre brake blocks and an Allen key. All reels also come with a numbered certificate of authenticity.

Also available are spare cages and skeleton kits. The kits mean you can turn your original 6500-sized multiplier into a TG-F2. If you’re not confident enough of doing the job yourself, simply send your reel to the company who will do the job for you – all you need to pay is the postage.
