A charter trip aboard Moonshine, skippered by Peter Churchill, who operates out of Langstone Harbour, Hants, saw James Smith successfully boat this 9lb smoothhound. The eight-year-old, from Reading, Berks, tempted the shark with a hardback crab.
Fishing out of Oban, in Argyll,Kyle Danson, 12, enjoyed a productive day targeting common skate. The lad, from nearby Lochgilphead, in Argyll, caught a total of seven, with this one his biggest at 200lb.
A session in the River Taw, North Devon, sawJosh Jeffery land this cracking 4lb 6oz thinlipped mullet. The 13-year-old, from nearby Ilfracombe, used a Mepps spinner baited with ragworms to good effect.
Logan Scott got his first shore fishing trip to Balcary, in Dumfries and Galloway, off to a great start when he landed this 11lb 8oz bull huss. The eightyear-old, from Workington, Cumbria, fished a mackerel on a 3/0 Pennell rig.
Oscar Male bagged himself this 1lb 2oz gilthead bream when he fished a shore mark in Dorset. The five-year-old, from Ilminster, Somerset, used a two-hook flapper rig baited with ragworms.
Luke Preston caught this 12lb 3oz bull huss when he fished aboard Matthew Burrett’s On Yer Marks Too, out of Drummore, Dumfries and Galloway. The 13-year-old, from Carnforth, Lancs, presented a mackerel flapper bait on a running leger rig.
This 3lb 15oz bass fell to a freelined ragworm that was presented by Liam Smith during a shore session in a local Northumberland estuary. The 15-year-old, from Newbiggin-by-theSea, released the fish.
Eight-year-oldKye Lewis, of Newport, South Wales, caught a codling and thornback ray while fishing a neap tide at nearby Goldcliff. He used a long pulley-dropper rig baited with ragworms and bluey and squid wraps.
