Why you need the Gemini Spring Loader.

Loading the elastic around the bait and tool means that once the wrapped bait is removed from the tool, the constraints of the two sprung prongs are no longer present to keep the elastic stretched out (loaded), causing the elastic to tighten around the bait in its attempt to return to its original shorter length.
