On your bike
Just 40 minutes outside of downtown Denver you can bike through rolling green fields accompanied by just the crunch of tyre on gravel and the highpitched squeaking of hundreds of these fat little critters – prairie dogs.
The burrowing creatures are actually rodents that belong to the squirrel family and they pop up everywhere from mounds of earth dotted around the prairie grass.
Selling Travel’s Sally Parker and Laura Gelder were in Denver for IPW, a threeday trade show which attracts 1,000 US travel organisations from every region of the USA. They took a break to explore the foothills of the Rockies by bike and couldn't resist making some furry friends along the way.
