AUSTRALIS
SECOND SHIP MAKES WAVES
CHILEAN expedition cruise company Australis visited the UK to celebrate 25 years of sailing the waterways of Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego and spread the word about its second vessel, Ventus
Australis, launched in January. Australis, which has just two ships, take passengers out to the most southerly tip of South America, Cape Horn, and around the Patagonian islands and fjords. Like its sister ship, Stella Australis,
Ventus Australis offers clients the opportunity to cross between Argentina and Chile between Punta Arenas and Ushuaia, with a stop on the island of Magdalena, home of the Patagonia penguin colony where Australis has initiated a penguin conservation project.
Catering to a maximum of around 200 passengers, the two ships undertake three-, four- and seven-night itineraries between September and April.
Clients can add a cruise to create a wider Latin America itinerary with operators such as Cox and Kings, Abercrombie & Kent, Travel 2 and SAGA, who all sell Australis.
