SellingTravel writer scoops top LATA gong
FREELANCE writer Ben Lerwill, a regular contributor to Selling
Travel, was one of the winners at this year’s Latin American Travel Association’s Media Awards.
Lerwill landed the ‘Best Trade Publication Feature of the Year’ award for a piece titled ‘ Andes to Amazon’, which appeared in the June 2017 issue of Selling Travel.
The winners were revealed at an event that took place at the RSA House in London attended by key members of the Latin American travel industry, the diplomatic community and some of the UK’s best-known travel writers and photographers.
With Lerwill overseas, his award was picked up on the night by Selling Travel editor Steve Hartridge (pictured front row, third from right).
Colin Stewart, Chairman of LATA, commented: “The quality of the entries for the 2018 LATA Media Awards was extremely high and LATA would like to thank all the talented journalists and photographers who entered the awards. They brought the Latin American region to life through creative and interesting stories and powerful photography.”
The headline sponsor on the night was Wendy Wu Tours. Previously known as an Asian specialist operator, Wendy Wu has expanded into Latin America and offers a collection of tailor-made holidays and group tours.
