Caribbean flora wins gold at Chelsea

THE Caribbean islands of Barbados and Grenada both celebrated a gold win for their exhibits at the Chelsea Flower Show 2018.

Pure Grenada’s ‘The Road to Success’ incorporated a traditional open-sided bus surrounded by tropical ferns, orchids and spices native to Grenada.

Lesley John, lead designer of the Grenada stand, said: “We have seen a real increase in tourists wanting to explore the flora of the island and we hope that we can continue to represent Grenada at future shows.”

Barbados’ ‘Where Rum Comes From’ exhibit was a floral representation of a rum still featuring sugar cane, barrels and rumbased cocktails set amongst tropical flora.
