Majorca has child-friendly beaches and great activities

-

WHeN it comes to family-friendly holidays, you can't beat the Mediterranean in my opinion. According to the Telegraph, Majorca was voted best for families as it has loads of child-friendly beaches and plenty of activities both in and out of the water.

Corfu comes a close second, with attractions ranging from water parks to horse riding. It also enjoyed a surge in popularity after The Durrells - an ITV drama which follows a lovely, eccentric family living there in the 1930s. Personally, I think good old Majorca is as perfect for kids now as it was when I was repping at the Magaluf Park for Thomson many moons ago. And I also have to commend Menorca for going out of its way to be child-friendly.

Teenagers will be kept busy in Cyprus with cycling trails up in the Troodos Mountains and various other adventure activities.

It helps that most of the islands I’ve mentioned have great family-focused hotels that offer lots of kids clubs and are all-inclusive, which can help if clients are on a budget. If the kids are kept entertained then it usually gives parents a chance to relax too.

With all the torrential rain and gales we've been having recently, people are bound to want to get their summer holiday booked! My advice would be to keep an eye on the TV for travel programmes that feature a country in a positive light - then put some offers in your window for those places. These programmes tend to generate a surge in bookings and make for an easy sell as people have them on their mind already!
