The 49th Girvan Folk Festival will run in various venues in the town from Friday, May 3 to Sunday, May 5. The usual mixture of concerts and sessions will also include a book reading by Rab Wilson of his work on the miners’ strike, Collier Laddie. Guests will include Craobh Rua, Christine Kydd and Fiona Ross, Scott Gardiner, Claire Mann and Tom Oakes, and the Magnus Turpie Band, among many others.
