Young’s en­joys soar­ing cocktail sales


IF YOU thought pubs were about a pint of weak lager and a packet of crisps, think again. Pub com­pany Young & Co’s Brew­ery (YNGA:AIM) says it en­joyed ru­n­away suc­cess with Aperol Spritz, sell­ing 140,000 drinks last sum­mer. It says cocktail sales over­all have grown strongly over the past year, so too craft beer and gin.

Chief ex­ec­u­tive Patrick Dardis says: ‘The more dif­fer­ent prod­ucts you put on the bar, the more peo­ple want to ex­plore the tastes.’

The rev­e­la­tion co­in­cides with news that Young’s has an­nounced its 21st con­sec­u­tive year of div­i­dend growth.
