What does a great shoot lunch look and taste like to you?

Good hearty, whole­some tra­di­tional food that will bring some much-needed warmth when you have been out in the cold.

Slow-roasted lamb with creamy mash is a favourite of mine. Serve with a lovely full-bod­ied red wine such as caber­net Sau­vi­gnon. To finish, it has to be bram­ley ap­ple tart with vanilla cus­tard.

roasted parsnips with honey are a firm favourite, and a rich sauce fin­ished with a bit­ter dark choco­late would be ideal with veni­son. For other game birds finish your sauce with some red­cur­rant jelly.

Also, try roast­ing your brus­sels sprouts with chest­nuts and crispy ba­con.

How can we make game more at­trac­tive to the gen­eral pub­lic?

It would be great if game was more read­ily avail­able to the pub­lic at a lower price, be­cause this would en­cour­age them to try it.
