event: 26th Annual International retriever match Venue: Anglesey Agricultural Show Judge: ronnie Farrelly and robin Lloyd The match this year was held during the Anglesey Agricultural Show with teams from England, Ireland and Wales. The competition was held on an area of natural cover of rough grass and reeds surrounding a small lake, with fences separating different areas of the ground.
The contest started with a short walk-up with two marked retrieves, both seen with a shot. The first, at some 20 yards, was followed by a longer retrieve over a fence, and they were taken alternately by the two dogs in line. The competitors then moved around the lake for the second task.
This consisted of two further retrieves with a shot. First, a mark was thrown to the left of the handlers over a fence in cover. This was followed by a shot for a blind in front over the water, again in cover, with the blind to be taken first.
