LOOK FOR LOVE
Sara Cox (below) is to host a new six-part BBC series called Love in the Countryside, in which she will help men and women living and working in rural areas across the UK to find their perfect partner. But the catch is that they will be sent on dates with city dwellers who want to embrace the outdoors.
Ms Cox said: “As a farmer’s daughter living in the capital I’m really excited about uniting rural folk with people from the city. I can’t wait to journey over hill and dale through Britain’s glorious countryside on my mission to help love blossom for the people who work the land, lovingly tend their animals but may have neglected their own hearts.”
Eight rural singletons have already been selected, so if you want to apply for a chance to take part in the show and possibly win their hearts (or have a snoop to see if you recognise any of them), visit www. bbc.co.uk/love.
IN THE GARDEN
July is one of the hottest months of the year, so you will probably want to spend more time in your garden than usual to enjoy the warm weather — and you are going to want it to look nice too. Make sure you clear any algae and other debris from ponds and deadhead any bedding plants and perennials to ensure continuous flowering. You can also harvest apricots if you are lucky enough to have an apricot tree in your garden.
