Seeland’s shooting clothing provides that perfect mix of practicality, performance and appearance
Your introduction to clay shooting might well be a chance encounter on a corporate work day or prehaps you have just always wanted to have a go. Either way, it is highly likely that an afternoon shooting clays will leave you wanting more.
Taking the next step will probably involve booking a private lesson at your local shooting ground. In the UK, we are lucky to have some fantastic clay grounds with professional instructors on hand to help you improve your skills.
One of the most important aspects of clay shooting is safety and a big part of that is what to wear. You need to feel comfortable, have room to move and ensure you have sufficient protection from any recoil you might get from the gun.
At Seeland, we have designed the Skeet II vest for both men and ladies. This vest is reasonably priced at £64.99 and is available in a number of colours.
The vests have some great features, including a glasses hook, a tab for your ear defenders and a reinforced shoulder for maximum protection. The cut of the vest works with the curves of your shoulder and the gun to provide a perfect fit.
“This highly stretchable material means that your movement is not compromised”
In the summer months the vest can be worn comfortably over a T-shirt or sweatshirt; during cooler weather it can be worn over the top of a jacket, providing added warmth but still allowing you to benefit from the large cartridge pockets, which are capable of holding at least 50 cartridges.
Good head gear is also important. It is recommended that you wear a cap or hat to protect your head from falling clays. Seeland offers matching caps so that you can coordinate your clothing.
Some people prefer to wear a jacket instead of a vest and the tailored Skeet Softshell Jacket is an ideal option. Made from a highly stretchable material that ensures that your movement is not compromised, the three-layer Seetex membrane makes it waterproof and breathable. The jacket retails at £94.99 and has excellent reinforced shoulder protection, a two-way zip and large cartridge pockets.
So now you have the correct kit, you can focus on what really matters – breaking clays.
