How old do ferrets need to be before they can be sexed?

I usually have a look at around week three. The jill’s vulva is close to her anus and the hob’s penis is further away. Hob ferrets are usually chunkier and more thickset with larger set heads, whereas the jill’s conformation is generally slighter.

The ferrets tend to be weaned off the mother at around six weeks and it is usual practice that at week eight they are ready for their new homes. SW
