Shooting Times & Country Magazine
The finer things
The Davidoff Grand Cru No 5 RRP £98.99 (pack of 5) cgarsltd.co.uk
With the first of the season’s partridges in the bag and driven pheasant shooting getting ever closer, what better way to spend an evening than in the company of Will Garfit? His Shooting Ways includes 50 and a 41 ring gauge, it should last around 25 to 30 minutes.
It’s mild to medium in flavour and very well constructed.
It’s consistent in its flavour throughout, with quite salty and peppery notes on the lips. It has a creamy and thick smoke, too.
At £20 a stick it’s the higher end of the petit corona scale, but still cheaper than most Cubans while maintaining the quality.
Nathan Little varied and entertaining stories from the sporting field, written with the familiar cheerful enthusiasm that makes him such a popular contributor to this and to other countryside magazines. Illustrated throughout with his own evocative artwork, this is a book full of good advice and thoroughly engaging stories.
