TO CATCH A FISH
Monkey Chartreuse Conehead
The Monkey fly has exploded on to the scene on Scottish rivers and is a big favourite with many anglers. In essence, it is a Sunray Shadowtype fly that catches just as well but has a little more attitude.
The conehead will take this plastic tube down in the water, so it is better suited for spring and autumn salmon fishing. For best results, let the fly swing from a square cast and vary the retrieve speed. It was successful for me recently in falling water on the South Esk.
