TO CATCH A FISH
Blue Norseman
Although considered to be a Norwegian classic, this sunray-style fly has a catch record that is far more international and is in my collection for rivers clearing after a spate and a firm favourite for early season fishing too. Fished best on an intermediate or slow sunk line, I cast square across the pool and strip back after the fly has time to sink. Vary the retrieve and cast angle to tempt the fish if necessary.
