TO CATCH A FISH
Goddard Sedge
With rain coming and going, lakes and reservoirs are being topped up and the groundwater recharged, meaning that fishing hasn’t slowed down. Invented by John Goddard, the Goddard Sedge dry fly is probably the most wellknown floating sedge or stonefly pattern. Because of its body of compressed deer hair and the front hackle, it floats exceptionally well. Trout are still taking from the surface; skimming this fly across the top of the water can get some interesting reactions.
