WILD GEESE GOING GREAT GUNS

I enjoyed David Tomlinson’s article on geese (We’ve got more geese than ever, 26 October), and I very much share his joy that most of our wild geese are doing so well. That said, I am sad about the short-stopping of the whitefronts, not least because home is under the traditional flightline they used on winter nights to travel between the Avon Valley and the Slimbridge wetland reserve. No longer do we hear their magical calls at night.

I’d also like to add a thought on the “typically tame” brent.
