French hunter tried for manslaughter
A French hunter who shot and killed a man has gone on trial accused of manslaughter. The victim, Morgan Keane, 25, was hit while he was chopping firewood outside his house in a village north of Toulouse.
Julien Féral, 35, who fired the fatal shot, faces charges alongside hunt organiser Laurent Lapergue, 51. France has a problematic record with hunting accidents and there have been two other fatalities since Keane was killed in 2020.
