SATURN

Sky at Night Magazine - - THE SKY GUIDE -

BEST TIME IN FEBRUARY: 28 February, 05:15 UT ALTITUDE: 17º LOCATION: Scorpius DIRECTION: Just east of south Another morning object, Saturn just manages to culminate in darkness at the end of the month, but from the UK it is low down. This makes getting a sharp view of it tricky as the thick layer of atmosphere close to the horizon distorts fine detail. Saturn’s rings are currently very open, the planet’s north pole being tilted towards us by 25º. On the 13th, the 38%-lit crescent Moon is 2.5º east of the planet, visible around 03:30 UT.
