We now have an im­age, made of two lay­ers, that shows both promi­nence and disc de­tail. At this point it’s worth check­ing that the so­lar limbs in both the promi­nence and disc lay­ers are cor­rectly aligned with each other. Now the two im­ages are to­gether, you may also find that you want to fine-tune their colours and crop out any un­wanted edges. Once you’re happy with the im­age, merge the lay­ers. Lastly, a gen­tle un­sharp mask can make fine de­tails pop out.
