GEORGES CHASSAIGNE, FREGENEAL DE LA SIERRA, SPAIN, 15 AUGUST 2017
Georges says: “The Veil Nebula is a cloud of heated and ionised gas in Cygnus. It constitutes the visible portion of the Cygnus Loop, a large but relatively faint supernova remnant. The Veil Nebula is a spectacular object in the summer sky. I chose this part because the field of my camera cannot capture all of the nebula.”
Equipment: SBIG STX 16803 CCD camera, Astrosib 14-inch RitcheyChrétien, Astro-Physics 1600 Go-To mount.
