Venus rises nearly four hours before the Sun. There’s a lovely meeting between mag. –4.5 Venus and a waning crescent Moon on the mornings of 3 and 4 December. A telescope shows a 25%-lit crescent, 40 arc-second across on 1 December. By the end of the month it appears 46% lit and 26 arcseconds across.
