THE PLANETS

-

Jupiter and Saturn are high in the evening sky, being due north around 22:00 mid-month. At this time Mars is rising, to be followed by Uranus about two hours later. Both planets are best observed in the morning. Venus is already well up at the start of dawn, reaching its maximum distance from the Sun on 13th. It shows a half-lit disc during the month (similar to a first quarter Moon). Neptune appears in the early evening and is visible for the rest of the night.
