TikToker goes back in time with holiday site 2000s weekend
BLAZING SQUAD, BLUE AND A GAME OF JUMBO BINGO AMONG THE HIGHLIGHTS
A POPULAR TikToker was pleasantly surprised after a visit to one of Butlin’s Skegness’ Big Weekenders and says people “make it out to be worse than it actually is.”
Jamie Segal, who has more than 130,000 followers and 6.4 million likes on TikTok, went with his mates to a Back To The 2000s weekend at the resort.
These weekends at Butlin’s include three days of noughties nostalgia with live performances and DJ sets. In fact, one of our reporters reviewed a Back To The 2000s weekend in November 2022 and loved it so much that he wanted to book again.
TikToker Jamie started off his video saying: “When I booked it I was like how bad can it actually be? But do you know what, it wasn’t actually that bad and people make it out to be worse than it actually is.”
He stayed in a room which he says cost him around £50 for three nights, admitting it was “very good” for the price.
Heading into the first night, Jamie says it was “constant drink the whole time”.
In terms of drinks, he said: “It’s not the greatest on tap with Budweiser, Carling, Coors. You know, the standard for this type of establishment.”
However, that didn’t stop him and his pals ending up with six luggage trollies in their room at the end of the night and not knowing how they got there.
Jamie and his friends found a “knock off Nando’s” for lunch which he says was “not the greatest”.
One night, they enjoyed a game of
Jumbo Bingo and he says that Saturday night was the best night they had, with Blazing Squad and Blue performing as well as a silent disco.
He admitted that the group were “so tired and done” by the Sunday night.
Butlin’s has a range of Big Weekenders available to book on the resort’s website.
