A 20-year-old drug dealer who set up shop in a property in Langley has been jailed for two-and-a-half years for supplying heroin, crack cocaine and cannabis.

George Awuah, of Stile Road, Langley, was convicted and sentenced at Reading Crown Court on Thursday, December 12.

He pleaded guilty to one count of being concerned in the supply of heroin, one count of being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine, and one count of being concerned in the supply of cannabis.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Natalie Butler of Local CID, said: “Thames Valley Police received a report that George Awuah had cuckooed a property in Minster Way.

“Cuckooing is when drug dealers take over a house and then sell drugs from that property.”

Police officers raided the property on Saturday, March 23, and arrested Awuah at the scene.

He was later charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin, crack cocaine and cannabis.

DC Butler said: “This case demonstrates Thames Valley Police’s commitment to reduce the levels of serious and organised crime in our region via our campaign called Stronghold.

“As part of the campaign we work closely with our partners in local authority, social services and the other emergency services to gain intelligence of drug dealing and share resources to tackle organised crime and protect vulnerable people.

“Our new campaign True Costs is also highlighting and exploring the devastating harm of drug use on our communities.

“Children as young as 12 have been found to be involved in the drugs trade in the Thames Valley.”
