Ladies help club claim third place

-

A good representation from the club’s senior ladies helped Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow (WSEH) AC post a creditable result in the fourth match of the Chiltern Cross Country League series at Keysoe, Bedfordshire on Saturday.

WSEH managed to finish third overall on the day, despite many of their athletes choosing to focus on the area and national championships which take place in the coming weeks.

Charlotte Firth set the trend for the senior team by winning the race in 23.40, just ahead of teammate Alice Flint in second on 24.45. Next home for the club was Natalie Thompson in 12th on 27.10 while Juliet Soane ensured the ladies maintained their top position, coming home 17th in 28.09.

Other WSEH finishes were

Vicky Brookling, 48th in 31.10, Anne Millett, 66th in 33.34 and Jessica Stoeki, 78th in 37.56.

Just three u17s WSEH athletes faced the starter’s gun, with Miguel Caeiro coming ninth and Morgan Hanson sixth in the u17s ladies event. Elaine O’Toole was also close at hand in eighth place.

Next weekend sees the English Schools Cross Country Championships take place.
