Flack end Windsor’s five game unbeaten streak

-

Marcus Richardson’s Flackwell Heath broke Windsor’s unbeaten streak on Tuesday night with a fine 3-0 away win at Stag Meadow.

The Royalists came into the clash off the back of their impressive 1-1 draw with leaders Westfields at home on Saturday, and would have fancied their chances against a side who haven’t played much football of late.

However, the Heathens held the advantage after an even first half and grabbed their goals through Khalid Simmo,

Marcus Oshiro-Lumb and Dean Morgan, the third of which came in added time.

The result lifts Flackwell

to 10th in the Hellenic Premier Division and ends a run of three matches without a win for Richardson’s men. However, the visiting coach admitted his side had to ride their luck to get the result. The result ended Windsor’s five match unbeaten run in all competitions.

“We never really dominated and it was basically a game of two halves,” he said. “It was one of them games that if they scored a couple in the first half, it might’ve been a draw, they might’ve won. I can definitely say we rode our luck. We defended as good as we could in the harsh conditions and our keeper kept us in the first half with a couple of fantastic saves. At half time I just said to the boys that I expected them to go out in the second half and put them (Windsor) to the sword.

“We gave a good representation of ourselves and hopefully we can do the same this weekend.”

Flackwell host leaders Westfields tomorrow (Sat) while Windsor host Brackley Town Saints the following Saturday.
