TAPLOW CC

Taplow also rounded off a disappointing campaign on a positive note after they beat Boyne Hill 2nds by 95 runs.

Having won the toss and batted they managed 291-9 from their 40 overs, a total Boyne Hill’s second string couldn’t get anywhere near.

There were several impressive performers for Taplow, most notably Arslan Butt, who smashed 128, Kazim Naqvi (56) and Qumber Naqvi (46no). Joel Greene (3-39) and Jay Lloyd (3-49) did their best to limit the visitors, but Taplow had seized control at the change-over.

Gareth Miller batted well for his 40, but Hill struggled to get into a rhythm at the crease with Ben Daglish (4-25) and Muzzammil Khan (3-35) doing much of the damage for Taplow.

ROYAL ASCOT CC

Royal Ascot held their nerve at the top of TVL Division 3A to clinch the title with an eight wicket win over Finchampstead 3rds.

The pressure was on going into the final match with Windsor nipping at their coattails in second place, however, Ascot held their nerve to pull off a commanding win. They inserted their hosts on winning the toss and restricted them to an under par 209-8 from their 40 overs. Jamie Brown top scored for the home side with 32. In response Joshua Jayasingh (91no) and Andrew Murray (63no) played with great assurance to ease the side to victory in the 38th over. They lost only two wickets in the process finishing on 213-2.

They finished the season just 10 points ahead of second placed Windsor, who beat Cove 2nds by 155 runs at the weekend.

WINDSOR CC

Windsor's victory was as comprehensive as it gets, as they set Cove a target of 239 for victory before bowling them out for just 83 runs in the 22nd over. They more than did their part on the final day but would have needed a favour from Finchampstead to steal in and take the title. Still, this has been a solid campaign for Mark Lines' side, and he’ll feel they’ll have much to build on going into next season.

FARNHAM ROYAL CC

Farnham Royal finished the TVL Division 3B campaign in third place after rounding things off with a 79-run win over Stoke Green 2nds. Royal were still in with a sniff of the title going into the final day, but victories for champions OMT over Harefield, and for NPL over Slough 3rds, thwarted those hopes. Still this was an impressive final day performance from the home side, who made 2187 from their overs before bowling Green out for 139 in 35 overs.

B Mohammed made 63 for the home with M Mohammed adding 38. But it was with the ball that Royal really impressed, with M Lynch taking 4-20 off eight overs.

MARLOW CC vs WRAYSBURY CC

Mid-table sides Marlow and Wraysbury played out an entertaining final day match, with Wraysbury edging it by four wickets.

Neither side was able to put themselves in the title picture throughout this shortened campaign, but both sides played freely at the crease in warm, late summer sunshine on Saturday. Batting first on winning the toss, Marlow made 243-8 from their overs, with I Nawaz making 73. However, Wraysbury showed no signs of scoreboard pressure as they eased to their target for the loss of only six wickets in the 38th over.

Marlow finish the campaign in fifth, with Wraysbury 14 points behind them in sixth.

Wooburn Narkovians might have missed out on the TVL Division 5A title to Farnham Common, but they finished with some promise, beating Ickenham 3rds by 100 runs on Saturday.

Batting first in good conditions they managed 250-6 from their overs, with Ben Barker helping himself to a magnificent 112 and Luke Johnson chipping in with 43. Dan Broughton then matched Barker’s efforts with the bat, taking 5-18 as Ickenham finished on 150-9. Vivek Ambasna was their top scorer with 60 not out.

FARNHAM COMMON CC

Champions Farnham Common picked up their eighth win from nine matches with a 66-run win at Wraysbury 2nds. Batting first Ross Antrobus (36) and Tyron Miso (45) both got their eye in to help the visitors on to 221-8. Wraysbury might have fancied their chances of chasing in decent batting conditions, but Saad Aamer (5-22) quickly extinguished those hopes and they wilted to 15510 in the 36th over.
