Danilo believes Magpies are ‘well equipped’ for new season
New signing Danilo Orsi-Dadomo believes Maidenhead United are well equipped for the upcoming campaign and is confident the club will give fans a ‘season of surprise’ at York Road.
The 24-year-old forward was one of United’s first arrivals this summer and has quickly found his feet in Magpies colours with two goals in pre-season fixtures against West Ham’s and AFC Bournemouth’s u23s.
With several more signings made since, some might have fears about Alan Devonshire’s new-look squad gelling in time for the new season. However, Orsi-Dadomo believes being one of a host of new faces has made it easier to settle in with the Magpies and is relishing the chance to prove his worth in the National League.
“When you join a team that has had a lot of new boys come in, it could either go one or two ways,” said Orsi-Dadomo.
“I think it’s been a very positive thing for us.
“We’ve got a good group and we’ve settled in very well as a team.
“You can see it in training and now that we’re playing in more competitive games, there’s a real team togetherness starting to form.
“We’re all really optimistic about the season in front of us and I definitely think it’s going to be a season featuring a lot of surprises.
“I think they’ve [Maidenhead United] done really well with this summer’s recruitment. They’ve brought in quite similar players in terms of personality and that definitely helps everyone gel together,” added Orsi-Dadomo.
“Dev is a bit of a no nonsense manager but he’s also quite funny too. He helped break the ice with a few jokes which obviously makes everyone feel a bit easier at training and playing together.
“I felt it was the right fit for me to join the club and he’s [Devonshire] someone who I believe will help me develop and kick on as a player in this league.
“It’s a club that I feel are moving in the right direction and it’s exciting to be a part of it.”
