SLOUGH: MP Tan Dhesi has urged people not to fall for any vaccine conspiracy theory, writes James Bagley, Local Democracy Reporter.

During the parliamentarian’s visit to the mass vaccination hub at Salt Hill Activity Centre, Mr Dhesi appealed to people in English, Punjabi, Urdu and Hindi to get vaccinated when contacted by the NHS and help save lives.

He urged residents not to fall for any anti-COVID-19 or antivax conspiracy theories, assuring the vaccine is safe and does not contain any animal products. He said: “As a member of Parliament, on behalf of the good people of Slough, I want to thank our NHS, our medical health professionals, and all the wonderful volunteers for your amazing efforts.

“We are relying on your good selves to make sure that we gradually get back to some sort of normality.

“And it’s wonderful that in an area that has been so hard hit; our town has been so hard hit by the pandemic, it’s wonderful to see so many people coming here to get vaccinated.

“To everybody out there my message is please get vaccinated, please do not fall for any conspiracy theory.

“The vaccine is safe, it has been approved by medics and by the regulatory authorities, there is no link to 5G and it does not contain any animal products.

“It’s safe for vegetarians or people of other faiths with specific dietary requirements.”

Slough’s MP urged those who have been vaccinated to keep following the guidance, such as washing hands regularly and wearing face masks, as they can still pass on coronavirus to others. He also said most of the over-80s have been contacted, and if anyone else has not been contacted thus far, do not contact your GP or medical practice as you will be contacted soon.
