New flats plan at school site
Langley: Application for three-storey block
Each week, the Express publishes public notices containing important information affecting the community you live in. These statutory notices help keep the wider public informed about key issues.
In the public notices this week, there are planning applications for 13 flats on land at Langley Grammar School, six houses in Burnham and the speed limit is to be changed on a number of Windsor roads.
Planning
An application has been put forward to build 13 one and two-bedroom flats in a three-storey block, at Langley Grammar School in Reddington Drive, Langley.
The former caretaker’s dwelling and garage would be demolished.
The idea is to secure an ‘additional source of funding’ from this space, to fund its dance studio and sports facilities, which are also to be available for use by the community outside of school hours.
The applicant Excellare Ltd and its representative say the development will create ‘much needed new homes in a sustainable urban location.’
“It will not appear cramped or harm the amenities of any neighbours. No family housing or garden land would be lost,”it wrote.
Another application has also been made to build six four-bedroom terraced houses with car parking around Dropmore Road, Burnham.
Meanwhile, Grand Western Railway is looking to install four CCTV cameras at Slough Railway Station.
Traffic
The Royal Borough is looking to reduce the speed limit from
50mph to 40mph for a stretch of the A329 London Road, Sunninghill.
This will be from 455 metres east of its junction with B3020 Sunninghill Road for a distance of approximately 2,510 metres.
It also wishes to change the speed limit to 20mph for the entirety of a number of other roads in Windsor.
