Artists can submit work for festival

SLOUGH: Applicatio­ns are currently open for artists to submit their work for the Love Slough Fine Arts Festival next month.

The festival has been commission­ed by HOME Slough, as part of LOVE Slough, a Slough-wide festival celebratin­g all ‘that is great’ about the town and its communitie­s.

Creative projects and events will take place throughout March at a range of locations in the town.

The Slough Hub and 99 World Artists are currently accepting submission­s of visual art pieces that fit the Love Slough theme.

All the artwork is due to be entered into an online contest which is open to a public vote from Monday, March 14 to Sunday, March 20.

A panel of judges will provide feedback on the work and artists who are shortliste­d will have the chance to promote and sell their artwork on the 99worldart­ists.com online gallery.

A grand finale will take place on Sunday, March 27, where three winners will be chosen to receive a prize of up to £250.

The piece will be displayed in venues around central Slough from

Monday, March 21 and on Saturday, April 30 for public viewing.

Vineet Vijh, founder of 99 World Artists and The Slough Hub, said: “The Fine Arts Festival aims to give Artists in Slough to showcase their work and work together to encourage more people to appreciate art.”
