Blues suffer humbling defeat to the Yellamen
Manager Ben Murray and assistant Kavi Luchowa suffered their first loss in charge of Burnham FC at the weekend, a humbling 4-0 defeat to fifth-placed Ascot United at The 1878 Stadium.
Ex-Windsor attacker Keaton August, George Lock, and Tom Scott were all on the scoresheet for the Yellamen who powered to an eighth successive victory in all competitions.
It’s also the second time this season the Blues have been heavily beaten by Jamie Tompkins’ men, having lost 5-0 in the reverse fixture at The Racecourse Ground on September 28.
As a result, they slip to 13th place in the Combined Counties Premier Division North and face high-flying outfit Abbey Rangers on home turf this Saturday.
When the two sides met last – managed then by Slough Town assistant manager Manny Williams – Burnham were beaten 50 at Addlestone Moor.
The goals were scored by Daryl Cooper-Smith (two), Pat Kirby, Tom Neale, and Charlie Postance.
Abbey currently sit in third place having beaten Wembley, 5-1, at home on Saturday.
