Windsor will have their work cut out to end losing streak against Quins

-

Windsor will have their work cut out if they're to prevent a three-game losing streak from becoming four when they host second placed Oxford Harlequins at Home Park.

Neal Kennedy's side have struggled to put a consistent run of form together this season while the departure of head coach Jack Pattinson due to increasing work commitments at London Irish – has also checked their progress.

Captain Chris Emmett said last week he believes the Royals can turn their recent

will go into Saturday's clash as heavy favourites, having won all but one of their 20 matches this season. They trail leaders Banbury by a point only because of a fivepoint penalty handed to them this season.

They come into the game having won 10 consecutive games, their last defeat coming at the hands of leaders Banbury on November 20, a narrow 23-17 loss.

Windsor will come into the clash well rested, having seen their game at Marlborough postponed twice over the past couple of weekends. After initially being called off because of a waterlogged pitch, both teams requested the game be pushed back again last weekend due to player unavailability on what was scheduled a league rest weekend.

Their last outing was the heavy 17-64 reverse at home to promotion chasing Newbury, however, Emmett felt injuries to key players left them hamstrung against a very strong opponent.

Prior to that there were encouraging signs in their 29-14 defeat at Bracknell and narrow 44-41 loss at Grove.

Harlequins weren’t in competitive action either on Saturday but will be strong favourites at Home Park.

■ Slough won their first game in nearly a month as they overcame Aldermaston 32-12 in the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Premier Division on Saturday.

The result leaves the Greenies seventh in the table and seven points adrift of sixth-placed Abingdon.

They'll be hoping to back that up with a win over second from bottom Wheatley this Saturday.
