Brigands to host mixed ability festival in Windsor
The Berkshire Brigands are to host an inclusive mixed ability rugby festival at Windsor Rugby Club on Saturday, April 9.
The Brigands were established just over 18 months ago and, despite the trials brought about by the COVID pandemic, the club has grown and strengthened its links with the local community.
The club welcomes players with learning difficulties and disabilities, autism, and other barriers – as well as those without – from the ages of 17 and above.
This event will be their first mixed ability festival and 12 teams from across the country are set to play a mixture of contact and tag rugby between 12-3pm, with presentations and awards given out from 4pm.
Alongside the rugby there will also be a DJ, food outlets and access to the Windsor RFC clubhouse and bar.
The club is keen to raise awareness of the event and awareness of mixed ability sport across the area and is always keen to welcome in new players and supporters.
