Flags lap dancing bar wants to renew licence
Chalvey: Church Street venue seeks new sex establishment licence
In the public notices this week, a sexual entertainment establishment in Slough is looking to renew its licence. Part of Upton Court Road is set to be closed for about two weeks in February.
Licences
A sex establishment licence application has been submitted for a lap dancing club in Slough.
The Flags Lap Dancing Bar in Church Street, Chalvey, is described as ‘a gentleman's club’ and ‘a recently refurbished local erotic dance pub.’
Alongside this, it has a bar and pool room, live sports screenings and can be hired for events and celebrations.
The Flags has been under its current management for about 20 years and is looking to continue its operations this year.
It currently offers ‘professional exotic entertainment’ seven days a week, opening 2pm-1am MondayWednesday, 2pm-2.30am ThursdaySaturday and 3pm-1am on
Sunday.
Dances start at 7pm MondayThursday, earlier on Fridays and Saturday and an hour later on Sundays.
To continue running, establishments of this kind must renew their licences by making a fresh application – which The Flags did successfully in November last year.
The application is for ‘the grant, renewal, transfer or variation of a sex establishment licence’ at its current address.
Anyone wishing to make objections to the application should do so in writing to the Licensing Manager, Licensing Team, My Council, Landmark Place, High Street, Slough, Berkshire SL1 1JL.
These must specify the grounds for objections and be submitted within 28 days of the date of this public notice.
Anyone requiring further information should contact the Licensing team on 01753 875664.
Road closures
Slough council has announced it is looking to close Upton Court Road, with its junction with London Road, in February.
The road closure order is needed because works are or are proposed to be carried out on or near the road.
It shall come into operation at one minute past midnight on Monday, February 12 and is expected to conclude by 11.59pm on by 23:59 hours on Friday, February 23.
The closure order will be in place for a maximum of 18 months.
An alternative highway will be available for use while the order is in force and local diversions will be clearly signed at the location.
