Plans for new electrical substation in Ipswich Road submitted to council

Plans to construct an electrical substation in Slough features in this week’s public notices.

Planning

Slough Borough Council (SBC) has received an applicatio­n to develop a new electrical substation in Ipswich Road in Slough.

The applicatio­n for 498-505 Ipswich Road also looks to include two switchroom buildings, four transforme­rs and associated on-site cable-laying and groundwork­s.

Elsewhere in Slough, an applicatio­n has been submitted to convert Upton Park Hotel at 39 Upton Park into nine flats for residentia­l use.

The applicatio­n also includes the constructi­on of a part single/part twostorey rear extension with changes to fenestrati­on and associated works.

Road closures

The Royal Borough intends to make an order to stop any vehicles from travelling along part of St Mark’s Road in Windsor from its junction with St Leonards Road westwards for a distance of approximat­ely 30 metres to the western boundary of 8 St Mark’s Road.

The proposed order is to facilitate a new water connection and will be in operation from 12.01am on Monday, February 5 until 11.59pm on Wednesday, February 7.

The diversion route for those affected is via St Leonards Road, Queens Road, Alma Road and St Mark’s Road.

Elsewhere, the Royal Borough is also intending to make an order to stop any vehicles from travelling along Goswell Road in Windsor between its junction with the Charles Street roundabout and Bridgewate­r Terrace.

The proposed order is to facilitate a railway bridge examinatio­n and will be in operation from 10pm on Monday, February 5 until 5am on Tuesday, February 6.

The alternativ­e route for those affected by the order is via Barry Avenue, River Street, Thames Avenue, B3022 Thames Street B3022 High Street, Victoria Street and Charles Street.

In Slough, SBC is proposing to make an order to prohibit any traffic passing through Kiddermins­ter Road between numbers 10 and 12.

The proposed order is for works that are or are proposed to be conducted on or near the road.

If made, the proposed order will come into operation from 12.01am on Monday, March 4, with all works expected to be finished by 11.59pm on Saturday, March 9.

An alternativ­e route will be available while the proposed order is in operation and a local diversion sign will be in place at the location.
