Old Windsor pub scoops top 100 SquareMeal spot

A popular Old Windsor pub has scooped a rank in the top 100 restaurant­s in the UK.

The Loch and The Tyne based in Old Windsor took the 68th spot among 100 restaurant­s reviewed by independen­t restaurant guide, SquareMeal.

Hill, is a joint project by Adam Handling, Steven Kerr and Johnny McNeil, and specialise­s in a ‘seasonal hybrid of Newcastle and Scotland’s finest dishes’.

Chef owner Adam Handling MBE said: “I’m over the moon. ‘British, sustainabl­e luxury’ has always been at the heart of everything we do here at the pub and we work so hard to be as sustainabl­e as possible, so to receive this recognitio­n means the world.

“I have to thank my incredible team at the pub for everything they do to achieve that vision and especially my co-chef proprietor­s, Steven Kerr and Jonny McNeil, for being great leaders. I’m so proud of the whole team.”

The Loch and The Tyne is open for dinner Wednesday to Sunday and lunch Thursday to Sunday and can be found at 10 Crimp Hill, Old Windsor.

A restaurant in Ascot has also ranked among the top 10 restaurant­s in the UK.

Based in Coworth Park, Woven by Adam Smith took the tenth spot amongst the 100 restaurant­s reviewed by SquareMeal.

A member of the Dorchester Collection, Woven by Adam Smith is open for lunch on weekends and dinner on Wednesday to Saturday.

SquareMeal’s UK Top 100 excludes London’s restaurant­s and uses a combinatio­n of reader votes and expert critics to reflect the wider dining scene in the UK.
