Carnival calling on stallholders to come and pitch up

-

Organisers of Cippenham Carnival are advertising for stallholders to come and be part of this year’s event in July.

Stalls, attractions and performances are just some of the attractions in store at the carnival as it returns for another year.

The popular event is being organised by the Cippenham Community Carnival Association (CCCA) for the sixth year, after it was resurrected in 2017.

Taking place from 11am to 4pm on Saturday, July 6 at Mercian Way Park, the event looks to bring the community together while also fundraising for good causes.

Each year, organisers select two good causes to raise awareness and money for and for the third consecutive year, this year the event will be supporting Slough Outreach – a community initiative helping homeless and vulnerable people in Slough and the surrounding areas.

More than £500 was raised for the initiative through last year’s event.

The carnival is also fundraising for a defibrillator to be put into the Cippenham Royal British Legion building based in Brook

Path.

Stallholders including charities, crafters and local and commercial businesses will be present at the event and visitors will also enjoy performances and entertainment.

Traylens fairground rides will join a Punch and Judy Show, Basil & Crew’s Farm Animals and a classic car show to entertain attendees on the day.

Organisers are also hoping to add donkey rides to this year’s offering.

On the day of the event, a raffle will be held, with all profits raised from ticket sales going towards the charitable causes.

Organisers are advertising for stallholders to join this year’s event.

Each pitch is 3m by 3m and requires chairs, tables, and a gazebo.

An early bird discount on pitch costs is available until Sunday, March 31.

Lorna Hensley, secretary at CCCA, said: “If you have a craft skill that you would like to sell your goods to the general public, this would be a great opportunity for you to have a go.

“Are you a charity or commercial business that would benefit from advertising to a wide audience?

“Tables are available and our previous footfall at the carnival has been around 1,500 attendees.”
