Notice to demolish housing blocks
An initial notice to demolish four residential blocks in Windsor features in this week’s public notices.
Planning
Housing provider Abri Group Ltd has given initial notice that it intends to demolish four housing blocks at Sawyers Close.
The demolition is part of a wider project by the company to build 413 new homes at the site.
Planning permission for the scheme was approved in December.
Plans include demolishing the current four eight-storey blocks of flats and building nine apartment blocks of up to eight storeys as well as seven rows of townhouses.
A cycle hub featuring 654 cycling storage spaces, a community space and 365 car parking spaces are also planned.
The work includes the demolition of all 192 homes across the four blocks of Grasmere, Broadleys, Hale and Winwood. This Initial Demolition Notice came into operation last month and will remain in force up until and including January 14 2031.
Temporary Road Closures
Slough Borough Council is looking to temporarily close St Mary’s Road between its junction with Langley Road and its junction with Padstow Close.
The order is needed for works that are proposed to be carried out on or near to the road.
It will be in operation from 12.01am on Saturday, April 6, with all works expected to be completed by 11.59pm on the same day.
An alternative route will be available while the order is in operation and a local diversion sign will be available at the location.
Advanced warning notices showcasing the date that the work is to be carried out will be in place at the locations.
Access for all residents and businesses in the area will be maintained.
Anyone with any queries regarding the proposed work or the alternative route are asked to contact Service Lead – Planning & Transport, Slough Borough Council, Observatory House, 25 Windsor Road, Slough, SL1 2EL, or email street.works@slough.gov. uk or call 01753 475111.
